From the loose stock "fossil evidence" or what we can look at today, I can say that more than half of the EMcF's that I have been able to examine are staight cut, flat bottom cutouts and considerably less than half are scooped (maybe a few as 1/3 to 1/4 even). My guess is somewhere around a million serial range or so, but there are so few rifles here to lookat that it is hard to say for sure. Seriously, the scoop changed to a plunge route (or flat bottom) somwhere in the Earl McFarland range (EMcF) and the scoop means earlier than that. The scooped clip-latch cutout is a little bit beyond the literature at this point still - so, congratulations on becoming an advanced (or at least intermediate) type guy! :lol:
